Good afternoon, this is James Cordier of OptionSellers.com with a market update for September 15th.
  1. This confuses me. How can you say that the economy is in “fine” shape when the reported unemployment numbers are completely skewed by the government? We have over 90 million people out of the job market.

This update doesn’t make sense to me.

      Nathan,

      Thank you for your feedback.

Don’t get us wrong. We are not necessarily big fans of current government or Fed policy. The point was that by traditional standards and believing government reported figures, the economy seems to be holding steady for now. Are there a lot of structural problems that need to be changed? Almost certainly. In addition, we believe both the US Economy and US Stock market remain vulnerable to sudden shocks at any time – a consequence of these larger, structural issues. That being said, we’re trying to see it the way the Fed is looking at it. As for your observations and what that could mean in the future – that’s a subject for another forum. We try to leave politics out of our analysis and focus on how to most benefit from price reactions (or non reactions) over the next 5-6 month time period.

      I hope that helps.

      Regards,
      Michael
