Turning Ag Market Fundamentals into Cash

  1. I watched Turning Ag Market Fundamentals into Cash. How do you account for southern hemisphere production? Argentine weather had a big effect on soybean prices for a while.

      Dear HG,

Argentine production is covered under World Ending Stocks and Stocks to Usage. For some deep coverage on this issue, I recommend reading our feature article in your April Option Seller Newsletter. If you do not yet receive it, you can get a free copy at http://www.OptionSellers.com/Newsletter.

      Thanks

Hi Michael. This is SO helpful. I have a question about the USDA.gov report. I found the WASDE report on the site dated March 2018. It is laid out a little differently than the newsletter example for corn. But, for corn it has ending stocks 2017/18 at 203. Are they projecting that for the month of March? Using the domestic total + export will get expected demand- again for month of March? Thanks for any help Michael. Jon

      Jon,

No. That is the March Estimate for the entire crop year. They update it every month. The crop year runs from Sept 1 – Sept 1. The estimates will become more refined the closer we get to harvest.

      Thanks
      Michael
